Foreclosure
Homes Up For Grabs
By Mabel Van
Niekerk
Foreclosure is hard for homeowners to go through, but the
truth is that many investors are ecstatic about the amount of houses that
are coming onto the buyers market because of it. All over the world there
are numerous homes up for grabs. As the bad economic times worsen, more
and more homes get on the market. Foreclosure signs are becoming more
common in all areas of the country. Many of these homes are sold for as
much as 50% below market price by the banks and mortgage lenders.
These homes are being sold for huge profits by real estate investors
who often make a business of searching for foreclosure homes. So how do
they locate these homes?
- Banks and financial institutions regularly give listings of
foreclosure homes
- New listings are added daily
- Government owned homes are also advertised
- You can get daily email alerts about these homes in your area
- There are databases advertising them across the country
- Watch out for foreclosure signs in your area
Many of these homes on the market have been severely vandalized either
by the owners, or by thugs who move in once the former owners have been
evicted.
Many of them have become totally unlivable, as walls are knocked down,
roofs removed and even the foundations have been damaged. When the damage
is so extensive all the authorities can do, is to bulldoze them down. This
obviously equates to a total loss for the financial institution.
If you wish to make a business of buying foreclosure homes, approach
homeowners who are delinquent in their monthly mortgage payments, before
the banks have foreclosed, and make them an offer for their home. Many
homeowners would prefer to sell the house and then settle with the bank in
order to keep their credit record clear.
